NSTR is currently recruiting a Corporate Tax Associate Director to join our client’s Private Equity tax team. Our client is a leading professional services firm providing audit, tax and advisory services, with a strong international presence across 150 global markets.

The Role

As an Associate Director, you will work with a broad portfolio of private equity–backed clients, delivering high-quality tax advice across both compliance and advisory engagements throughout the investment lifecycle. You will play a key role in leading teams, supporting senior stakeholders, and driving client relationships.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Advising clients on a wide range of corporate tax matters across compliance and advisory projects
  • Supporting Directors and Partners by managing and developing high-performing tax teams servicing portfolio companies
  • Leading and contributing to client meetings, providing clear and confident responses to technical queries
  • Building trusted client relationships through accurate, high-quality advice delivered to agreed deadlines
  • Coaching and developing junior team members, supporting their career progression
  • Providing proactive and commercially focused tax solutions, including exit readiness and identifying cross-service opportunities
  • Leading pitches and proposals, contributing to business development and market presence

Requirements:

  • Professionally qualified (CTA, ACA, ACCA or equivalent) with post-qualification experience
  • Proven experience managing a portfolio of private equity–backed businesses
  • Experience working with PE-backed clients; transaction exposure (due diligence and/or tax structuring) advantageous but not essential
  • Demonstrated experience reviewing work and supervising teams in a tax environment
  • Background within a professional services firm
  • Experience managing large client portfolios and/or transactional tax work
  • Strong business development capability or a clear interest in growing this skill set
  • A genuine desire to develop a deep understanding of the firm’s wider services and capabilities
