FS Tax Senior Manager – London/ Manchester

The opportunity

NSTR is currently looking for FS Tax Senior Managers. Our client’s Private Capital Tax team provides a full suite of tax advisory and compliance services to non-listed (i.e., not publicly traded) Financial Services businesses, dealing with the UK and international tax affairs of the business itself, owners, employees and other stakeholders. Our client also works with many ultra-high net worth and high-profile individuals, advising them on their personal needs as well as their business holdings or investment structures (e.g. trusts, funds or family companies). This includes asset management businesses, fintechs, and other non-listed financial services organisations. Due to the ongoing success and growth of the team, they have new opportunities for experienced and talented individuals to join our London or Manchester offices, working within the Private Capital Tax team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading the successful delivery of technically complex and demanding UK and international tax advisory projects to our clients, and provide support to our growth strategy in the private capital market
  • Driving the creation and growth of key client relationships by delivering exceptional client service
  • Help people to develop through effectively supervising, coaching and mentoring staff
  • Role in the management of the team both in terms of strategy and operations and also through managing staff development and assignments.

Skills and attributes for success:

  • High-level of familiarity and practical tax knowledge in advising individuals, families and their investment structures, UK corporate tax and/or partnership matters
  • Client-focused, with the ability to deliver pragmatic, solution-oriented advice in a commercial context
  • Business development skills, able to identify and convert opportunities to sell work
  • Excellent communicator with an ability to build, sustain and lead effective teams
  • Ensure delivery of quality work and take day to day leadership of delivery team
  • Computer literacy, with the ability to adapt to new systems

To qualify for the role you must:

  • ACA / CTA / Tax Inspectors with full Technical Training course / Law qualification / Tax specialist qualification
  • Strong tax technical skills
  • Initiative, professionalism and confidence
  • Experience of coaching and developing junior staff
  • Eligibility to work in the UK
  • The ability to motivate a team; manage, mentor and train junior staff and work with people from across the business
