This is an excellent opportunity to join a specialist technology services organisation delivering critical infrastructure projects across the UK and occasionally Europe. The role is UK-wide field-based, with travel to customer sites across the UK and occasional EU travel as required. You must be fully prepared for frequent travel and working in remote and high-security environments. You must be eligible for UK SC Clearance or already hold active SC Clearance.

As a Field Systems Engineer, you will work across the full project lifecycle, supporting pre-handover configuration and testing, on-site installation and commissioning, and post-handover fault finding and maintenance. You will work closely with design, workshop, and field installation teams to ensure systems are fully tested, validated, and delivered to specification. Reactive and proactive maintenance support across live customer environments will be expected, ensuring high levels of system availability and performance.

This role requires a strong technical grounding in networking and communications technologies, combined with experience working in field-based engineering environments, supporting integrated security, network, and infrastructure systems.

Key Skills:
  • Proven experience as a Field Engineer, Commissioning Engineer, Network Engineer, or Systems Engineer within complex technical environments
  • Strong understanding of IP networking, routing and switching, and exposure to WAN/LAN infrastructure
  • Experience commissioning, configuring, and testing technical systems in live customer or project environments
  • Exposure to integrated security systems such as CCTV, Access Control, Intruder Detection, or similar technologies
  • Experience working within critical infrastructure, utilities, defence, transport, or similarly regulated environments
  • SC Clearance (active) or eligibility and willingness to undergo SC Clearance process
