This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a UK-based technology services organisation, to shape and deliver cloud modernisation architecture for a critical, long-term, and high-impact IT resilience improvement programme. The role is remote working, based in the UK, with travel to customer sites and team meetings expected as necessary.
As an Azure Cloud Technical Architect, you will provide senior architectural leadership to design and guide resilient, secure, and scalable cloud solutions within a multi-year IT resilience improvement programme. You will assess existing technology landscapes, define high- and low-level architecture designs, and shape practical approaches to cloud adoption, disaster recovery, business continuity, and technical debt reduction.
You will collaborate closely with programme leadership, engineers, and delivery teams to define technical workstreams, support engineering execution, and ensure solutions align with cloud-first principles, security best practices, and operational readiness.
To succeed in this role, you will need strong experience designing enterprise Azure architectures, expertise in cloud modernisation and resilience strategies, and excellent stakeholder engagement and leadership skills. Azure architecture certifications are highly desirable, with AWS exposure considered advantageous.
Key Skills:
- Proven experience designing secure, scalable Azure architectures within complex enterprise environments.
- Strong background in assessing legacy estates and defining practical migration and modernisation strategies.
- Experience designing and improving disaster recovery/business continuity architectures to support resilient, highly available services.
- Knowledge of secure-by-design principles, Azure governance, identity, and compliance frameworks.
- Ability to guide engineering teams, define architecture deliverables (HLD/LLD), and support successful technical delivery.
- Current UK SC Clearance, or eligibility and willingness to obtain SC Clearance.
