We are looking for an experienced, Multi-Skilled Lathe Setter to join our manufacturing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on engineer who is skilled in setting and operating lathes, enjoys working to tight tolerances, and is confident to supervise and motivate machine operators. The Role As a Multi-Skilled Lathe Setter, you will be responsible for setting and operating lathes and drilling machines to manufacture precision parts in accordance with engineering drawings and specifications. Your duties will include: Setting and operating lathes and drillers. * Producing precision parts to tight tolerances * Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and standards * Selecting appropriate tooling, speeds and feeds * Capable of grinding turning tools and drills * Carrying out in-process quality checks * Using measuring equipment such as micrometers, verniers and gauges * Making tooling and jigs where required * Identifying and resolving machining issues * Supervising machine operators * Carrying out basic machine maintenance and housekeeping * Working to production schedules while maintaining high-quality standards * Supporting other areas of the workshop when required * Maintaining a safe, clean and organised working environment About You The ideal candidate will have: * Experience with lathes, milling or other machining processes is a necessity. * Strong knowledge of machining processes and tooling * The ability to confidently read and understand engineering drawings * Experience working to tight tolerances * Good knowledge of inspection and measurement techniques * A practical, problem-solving approach * Excellent attention to detail * The ability to work independently as well as part of a team * A strong commitment to quality and health & safety What We Offer * Competitive salary dependent on experience. * Hours (Apply online only) Mon- Thurs and (Apply online only) Fri * 31 days annual leave inclusive of statutory days prorated in first year. * Overtime opportunities * (email address removed) app offering 24hr GP access and other benefits. * Permanent position with a stable and established company * Ongoing training and development opportunities * An expanding production facility with continuous investment in new machines and processes
