Main Purpose of Job
NSSLGlobal, a world-leading maritime systems integrator, is seeking a Design Engineer to collaborate with engineering and project teams in producing electrical and mechanical drawings.

Key Tasks
- Hold a minimum qualification of HND/HNC, apprenticeship, or equivalent, with proven knowledge of and compliance with EU electrical safety directives.
- Possess at least five years of experience in electrical/systems design.
- Experience with electrical engineering regulations, including BS7671 wiring regulations (18th edition) and the Electricity at Work Act, is advantageous.
- Proficient in recognized drawing standards, including BS8888 2017.
- Familiarity with technical standards for EMC and LVD.
- Capable of developing design concepts from first principles, with strong engineering design skills and knowledge of manufacturing techniques and material properties.
- Knowledge of manufacturing techniques for electrical enclosures, control panels, and 19” racks.
- Ability to produce high-quality 2D and 3D drawings using CAD software, adhering to ISO standards; candidate may assist in selecting the appropriate software.
- Produce STEP files for transfer to clients as needed.
- Transform rough mechanical designs into detailed drawings.
- Create Visio diagrams to support various company needs.
- Experienced in using CAD packages such as AutoCAD, with ideally experience in electrical CAD software like SEE Electrical or ETAP.

- Work assigned and prioritized by line management, senior leadership, and global teams as required.

- Own and see tasks through to completion.
- Make proactive and independent decisions within authority levels.
- Manage issues responsibly and coordinate responses to prevent escalation.

- Exercise significant judgement in managing cross-boundary relationships to ensure positive outcomes.

- Prioritize work commitments appropriately based on judgement.
Experience/Skills/Qualifications
- Minimum four years’ experience producing electronic and mechanical drawings in significant quantities.
- Demonstrate hard work, tenacity, initiative, problem-solving skills, and the ability to meet tight deadlines while balancing priorities.
- Must hold or be capable of obtaining SC Security Clearance.
- Proficient in standard office applications.
- Committed to producing high-quality work that meets or exceeds customer requirements.
