Main Purpose of Job
To assist with the functional testing of equipment in the workshop.
To assist with the mechanical assembly and mounting of hardware, including drilling, tapping, and cutting.
Manual handling of goods received or dispatched, including picking, checking, and packing.

Key Tasks
- Use of hand tools for mechanical and electrical tasks.
- Assist with the mechanical assembly and mounting of hardware, including drilling, tapping, and cutting.
- Preparation of cables & connectors for terminating.
- Assist with the assembly and wiring of 19” panel systems.
- Assist with the functional testing of equipment in the workshop.
- Maintain a safe and clean workshop environment, ensuring all QHS&E procedures are followed.
- Keep workshop records accurately, e.g., workshop field service call activity, copies of test specifications, job files, etc.
- Assist the Stores Supervisor and staff with maintaining stock handling standards and accurate records.
- Assist with Goods Inwards/Outwards procedures, processing documentation, and ensuring timely receipt and dispatch of goods.
- Maintain accuracy of serial number tracked items and update the warranty database (Excel) and other databases as required.
- Participate in stock takes and cycle counts under the direction of the Stores staff.
- Maintain good housekeeping and a rubbish-free environment daily.
- Be aware of controls for transporting Hazardous Goods and comply with procedures.
- Maintain standards regarding the Known Consignor Status of the company.
- Provide facilities support, including work area changes, equipment movement, and minor maintenance tasks.
Assignment and Review of Work
- Work priorities assigned by Stores Supervisor.
- Escalate issues to Logistics Department or Supervisor as needed.
Decision Making
- Check accuracy of stock record information.
- Ensure goods are fit for shelving via Returns To Stock System.
- Prioritize workload and balance facilities support requirements.
Judgement
- Awareness of safe working practices within the store environment.
Experience/Skills/Qualifications
- Good secondary education, literate and numerate, with communication skills at all levels.
- Physically capable of handling loads.
- Computer literate with accurate data entry skills.
- Quick learner of new computerized tasks.
- Flexible and trustworthy with company equipment.
Training provided includes various workshop-related courses.
