The Enterprise Engineering team are responsible for a variety of services offered to our customers. These include:
- Bespoke hardware/software developments to provide customers with the ability to better manage their remote site traffic and user experience, as part of an NSSLGlobal solution.
- Meeting with external customers to design on-board vessel and land networks for fleets and remote sites, including bespoke designs, traffic prioritisation, integration into existing infrastructure, and ongoing support.
- Finding off the shelf products/developing in-house products/system design and integration to best suit the needs of our business and our clients, testing/evaluating updates/releases, and adding them into our Product Portfolio.
- The design and management of the NSSLGlobal global VSAT, LTE, & PoP infrastructure and Customer networks, including requirements capture, traffic shaping, traffic acceleration, VoIP and systems management.
This role is to provide expertise on all types of data communications ranging from single email applications to complex computer networks and involving the use of devices including firewalls and routers. To support the Enterprise Engineering team by providing technical support, in a professional manner to NSSLGlobal’s customer and supporting NSSLGlobal solutions. Existing solutions you will be involved as part of a team in supporting/maintaining include our in-house product ranges incorporating VoIP platforms, email services, file replication, hotspot solutions, software distribution, web filtering, firewalling, virtualisation, high-availability and video entertainment services.

Key Tasks
- Work as a team member within Enterprise Engineering to support the smooth running of Customer projects and participate proactively in all team responsibilities.
- To own, investigate and resolve escalated engineering service issues, providing accurate and timely technical information/analyses.
- To provide support as part of the Enterprise Engineering team in the build, implementation, test commissioning and installation of customer networks both at HQ and at remote sites.
- Create, develop and maintain project documentation methods for all Enterprise/Customer projects and solutions.
- To assist Enterprise Engineering with product, application and service evaluation based on requirements from customers, sales, marketing and Product Management.
- To mobilise at short notice to survey, install or configure customer networks.
- To keep abreast of new developments in the IT & communications industry which are applicable to NSSLGlobal’s markets.
- If required, to participate in the Enterprise Support Engineer shift rota.

Experience/Skills/Qualifications
Qualifications
- Degree (2:1) or HND/HNC in IT/Electronics/Computer Science or related area.
- CISCO / MS qualifications - Mandatory.
- Good knowledge of TCP/IP networking concepts including Routing, Switching, Firewalling, including Layer 7 firewalls.
- Ability to diagnose complex faults, document, communicate and follow up corrective actions.
- Good experience with modern digital satellite communications &/or IT systems.
- A professional and flexible approach with a proactive “can do” attitude.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team, and independently on your own projects.
Desirable
- Project planning and delivery experience.
- Good Server Operating System knowledge (Linux, Windows).
- Asterisk/VoIP platforms.
- Programming knowledge (Perl, bash).
- Hardware and Software systems development and design experience.
