Overview

Registered Manager – Children\’s Home (Ofsted). Location: Handsworth, Birmingham. Salary: £55,000 per year plus benefits. Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm.

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Registered Manager to lead a small three-bed children\’s home in Handsworth. This is a care-focused environment that provides stability, safety and personalised support for children and young people with complex needs. You will play a key role in creating a warm, structured home where every young person feels valued and encouraged to achieve their full potential. As the Ofsted Registered Manager, you\\\’ll be responsible for the day-to-day running of the home, ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation and maintaining high-quality care in line with Ofsted standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily management of the home, ensuring a safe, nurturing and child-centred environment
  • Lead and support a team of care staff, promoting a positive culture focused on development, consistency and emotional wellbeing
  • Ensure the home meets Ofsted\\\’s requirements and achieves strong inspection outcomes
  • Develop and implement care plans tailored to each child\\\’s individual needs
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure all safeguarding, health and safety, and regulatory requirements are met
  • Recruit, train and develop staff to deliver exceptional standards of care
  • Build strong relationships with local authorities, social workers and families to ensure effective communication and partnership working
  • Monitor the performance and quality of care provision, implementing improvements where necessary

About You

  • Minimum of 3 years\\\’ experience in a managerial role within a children\\\’s residential setting
  • Strong understanding of Ofsted regulations, safeguarding and children\\\’s legislation
  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
  • A caring, hands-on approach with a genuine passion for improving the lives of young people
  • Excellent leadership, organisational and communication skills
