NSS Maintenance are a working at height contractor working throughout UK, servicing facilities management clients and the refurbishment industry alike.

- Location – Altrincham
Our national coverage operates from four UK depots to offer planned and reactive building fabric maintenance and refurbishment services to commercial, retail, and industrial sectors.
We currently employ 600 employees directly across the NSS Group and own a fully serviced truck mounted access fleet, which we use in house for reactive and planned maintenance and cleaning requests.
Your job will include
- Estimating medium to large scale work opportunities generated following reactive maintenance visits or tenders received through the project division.
- Ensuring the quotations allocated are completed within the required SLAs.
- Maintaining clear and concise workings in order for contract management to understand time frames, equipment involved and material quantities.
- Provide support to contract management teams in delivering their instructed works.
- Engage with and build supplier & subcontractor relationships (existing and new).
- Meeting and interacting with clients and building up reputable relationships.
- Engaging with site surveyors and engineers to ensure they capture the correct information for your estimating opportunities.
- Assist the Operation manager to identify and set conversion rate targets in line with the companies’ goals and objectives.
- Working closely with your operations director to ensure continuous improvement.
- Working together with other divisions to grow the customer base.
- Analysing commercial situations and capitalising on them to benefit the business.
- Chase down and keep dialogue open for active opportunities submitted.
- Bring new and experienced lines of supply chain into the business.
- Be flexible and adaptable to the businesses needs and hold a sense of urgency in line with the fast-paced nature of the division.
You are good at
- Working with existing schedules of rates but understanding commercial opportunities and the importance of being competitive.
- Experience with quoting small -medium scale projects as well as some larger scale tenders if/when required.
- Understanding industry requirements and cultures.
- Upskilling other individuals within the division who require support with technical advice.
- General roofing (all disciplines), specialist coatings and dilapidations knowledge.
- General mathematics, business, and commercial acumen.
- Dealing with the full range of shareholders within the business – engineers, surveyors, contract managers, account managers, sales managers, directors, and clients.
- Suggesting new ideas and improving our estimating processes and procedures.
- Working autonomously without the requirement for micromanagement.
- Working closely with the sales team to ensure their requests are actioned within the desired timeframes.
- Being realistic in terms of opportunities available (some enquires are not suitable for us and should be declined as and when).
- Managing multiple quotations and enquires / opportunities across the UK.
- Understanding H&S legislation and ensuring these are accommodated for within your priced opportunities.
- Liaising with clients to ensure best in class service is maintained.
- Utilising your knowledge of the industry to grow the customer base.
- Learning new skills and adapting to new environments.
