NSS PLUS LTD (NeuroSupport Services) is a specialist provider dedicated to helping individuals with acquired brain injuries (ABI) regain independence and improve their quality of life. We are currently seeking professional Support Workers and Healthcare Assistants to join our team in Leyton.
The Role:
Our client is a 50-year-old male, who has an acquired brain injury. The client requires support with all aspects of personal care, moving and handling, and support with accessing therapy appointments and day-to-day activities. He can manage some elements of his routine himself, with support from his support workers. The required activities include, but are not limited to:
- Support with some elements of personal care.
- Support with some elements transfers.
- Driving the client to and from appointments.
- Supporting the client with accessing social and leisure opportunities.
- Building a trusting working relationship with the client.
- Support with some mealtimes.
Mandatory Requirements:
To be considered, candidates MUST meet the following criteria:
- UK Experience: At least 6 months of UK-based support worker experience (within the last 3 years).
- Licence: A full, clean UK Driving Licence and access to a car for work use.
- Communication: Clear, fluent English is essential.
- Status: Applicants must be willing to work on a self-employed basis.
- CV: Your CV must clearly highlight your relevant experience and qualifications.
Preferred Candidate Profile:
- Experience in Brain Injury (ABI/TBI), stroke, dementia or aphasia is highly advantageous.
- Background in Psychology (Graduates are encouraged to apply) or as a Therapy Assistant, Rehabilitation Support Worker, Healthcare Assistants or Care Worker.
- Ability to work on your own initiative while being a key part of a Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT).
- Strong organizational skills and basic IT literacy (Word/Excel).
- Knowledge of how to use a Sara Stedy (active hoist) and drive a Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle would be preferred.
- The ability to listen and follow instructions to the letter are essential qualities for this role.
