We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Quantity Surveyor to join a well-established and growing construction business operating across the Midlands. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of high-quality projects within a supportive and forward-thinking environment.
The Role
You will play a key role in the commercial management of construction projects from inception through to completion. You will be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered within budget while maintaining the highest standards of quality and efficiency. Projects typically include a mix of industrial & logistics developments alongside wider commercial and mixed-use schemes. You will be involved in delivering modern warehouse and distribution facilities, often incorporating high-specification builds, sustainable design features, and associated infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Leading the commercial management of projects from inception to completion
- Preparing and reviewing tender documentation and contract negotiations
- Managing subcontract procurement and commercial performance
- Overseeing valuations, variations, and final accounts
- Monitoring cost performance, cash flow, and forecasting
- Identifying and mitigating commercial risks
- Mentoring and supporting junior commercial team members
- Building strong relationships with clients, consultants, and supply chain partners
Requirements
- Proven experience in a Quantity Surveyor role within the construction industry
- Experience working on industrial/logistics projects (e.g. warehouses, distribution centres) alongside other sectors
- Strong knowledge of JCT/NEC contracts
- Excellent commercial awareness and negotiation skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline (or equivalent experience)
