We are seeking a commercially focused, hands-on Finance Director who can build the financial infrastructure required to support rapid growth.

The Opportunity

This is not a traditional corporate Finance Director role. We are looking for a leader who is equally comfortable developing strategic plans with the owners as they are rolling up their sleeves and improving day-to-day financial operations. You will be the first full-time finance professional as the business brings the function in-house. Acting as a trusted advisor to the founders whilst creating processes that utilize technology to protect time and money.

The successful candidate will have experience within SaaS and enterprise software businesses, ideally in scaling organizations that have expanded internationally and ideally entered the US market.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner directly with the owners to drive business strategy and decision-making for finance.
  • Develop and deliver the financial roadmap to support rapid international expansion.
  • Lead annual budgeting, long-range planning and forecasting processes.
  • Provide commercial insight on pricing, customer profitability, recurring revenue and growth opportunities.
  • Support fundraising, banking relationships and investor discussions as required.
  • Prepare the business for future strategic transactions, acquisitions or investment opportunities.

Leadership

  • Own all financial reporting, management accounts and board reporting.
  • Develop robust KPIs and dashboards across the business.
  • Improve financial controls, governance and compliance frameworks.
  • Manage cash flow, working capital and treasury activities.
  • Oversee international tax, VAT and regulatory compliance across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Lead audit processes and external advisor relationships.
  • Build and develop the finance function as the company scales.
  • Implement systems, processes and automation to improve efficiency.
  • Work closely with department heads across sales, operations, marketing, product, engineering and people.

SaaS & Enterprise Metrics

  • Track and analyse ARR, MRR, churn, customer acquisition costs, customer lifetime value and gross retention.
  • Provide detailed analysis of enterprise contract profitability and revenue recognition.

Candidate Profile

  • Currently based in UK and able to attend face-to-face interviews.
  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
  • Proven Finance Director, Head of Finance or Financial Controller experience within a SaaS and/or enterprise software business.
  • Experience supporting a business through rapid growth and scale-up phases.
  • Strong understanding of recurring revenue business models and SaaS metrics.
  • Demonstrable ability to combine strategic thinking with hands-on execution.

Personal Attributes

  • Exceptional communication skills.
  • Happy working in a high performing fast-paced team.
  • Pragmatic, hands-on and solutions-focused.
  • Ambitious and excited by the opportunity to help build a global player.

What We Offer

  • Basic Salary Range quoted of £(phone number removed).
  • Pension up to 5% Matched.
  • Family Healthcare.
  • Performance-related bonus of 10-20% of package.
  • Travel costs related to business paid.
  • Direct access to founders and strategic decision-making.
  • Opportunity to shape and build the finance function.

If you are a commercially minded Finance Director with SaaS and enterprise software experience and are excited by the challenge of helping scale a successful international technology business from £11m revenue towards its next phase of growth, we'd love to hear from you.
