We are seeking an experienced and motivated Design Manager to join our growing team, supporting projects across Kent and the surrounding regions. Your time will be split between our Kent-based HQ and project sites, providing both strategic oversight and hands-on coordination throughout the design and construction process. This is an excellent opportunity for a design professional with strong experience in industrial and distribution centre projects who wants to play a key role in delivering large-scale, high-quality projects.
The impact you’ll make within this role will be to take ownership of the design process from concept through to completion, ensuring that design information is coordinated, practical, and delivered in line with programme requirements. You will be expected to lead and coordinate between architects, engineers, consultants, and subcontractors, ensuring that design solutions are efficient and aligned with the demands of the project. Your ability to manage complex design coordination will be essential in identifying and resolving technical challenges, managing design risk, and ensuring compliance with UK building regulations and project specifications.
You’ll be working closely with project managers, commercial teams, and site teams, helping to drive cost-effective and technically sound design solutions that support efficient delivery and maintain programme certainty. Your experience in industrial and logistics environments will play a key role in ensuring that projects meet both operational and construction requirements.
Requirements- Proven experience as a Design Manager on industrial or distribution centre projects (essential).
- Strong technical understanding of construction and project delivery.
- Experience coordinating multidisciplinary design teams and consultants.
- Experience handling schemes up to £30 Million +.
- Excellent communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders effectively.
- Relevant degree or qualification in construction, architecture, engineering, or a related discipline (preferred).
- Salary up to £80,000 depending on experience.
