We are working with a leading UK main contractor with a strong pipeline of projects across the Midlands and wider UK. Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint a Quantity Surveyor to strengthen their commercial team. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially driven professional to join a well-established contractor delivering high-quality construction projects across multiple sectors.
The Role
You will play a key role in the commercial management of live projects, working closely with project and site teams to ensure successful financial delivery. Responsibilities will include:
- Managing day-to-day commercial activities on assigned projects
- Procurement and management of subcontractor packages
- Cost control, valuations, variations, and forecasting
- Monthly reporting, including CVRs and cashflow tracking
- Ensuring compliance with contracts and internal commercial procedures
- Supporting project teams in resolving commercial and contractual issues
- Building strong relationships with clients, consultants, and subcontractors
About You
- Proven experience in a Quantity Surveyor role with a main contractor
- Strong commercial, contractual, and financial acumen
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail
- Proactive mindset with the ability to manage multiple priorities
