The varied role sits within the Volunteer Board Fundraising team, which leads income generation through regional and national volunteer boards, volunteer-led fundraising initiatives and delivery of special events through our high value event committees. These activities play a vital role in maximising sustainable income, engaging senior volunteers, and supporting long-term supporter relationships.

What is the purpose of the Senior Events Manager role?

This role is responsible for leading a portfolio of high-value fundraising events and projects, working closely with committees of senior volunteers to maximise income and supporter engagement.

• Raising significant income through a programme of special events and volunteer-led fundraising initiatives.
• Developing and stewarding relationships with high-profile volunteers, supporters and corporate partners.
• Identifying opportunities to grow income through existing events and new fundraising activity.
• Managing event budgets to deliver strong return on investment and long-term sustainability.

What will I be doing as a Senior Events Manager?

• Lead the planning and delivery of a portfolio of high-value fundraising events, from large-scale dinners and flagship events to intimate supporter receptions.
• Work closely with committees of senior volunteers, supporting them to maximise fundraising opportunities through their networks and influence.
• Develop and manage relationships with supporters, volunteers, companies and prospects to secure new fundraising opportunities and income streams.
• Identify and implement opportunities to improve existing events and develop innovative new fundraising concepts.
• Take responsibility for event budgets, ensuring activities are financially successful and deliver strong return on investment.
• Prepare presentations, sponsorship proposals, volunteer briefings, correspondence and reports for a range of stakeholders.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues across Engagement and Fundraising and wider NSPCC teams to maximise opportunities and supporter engagement.
• Organise and support volunteer meetings and stakeholder events, ensuring excellent standards of communication and administration throughout.

What skills do I need to be a Senior Events Manager?

• Experience managing multiple fundraising events and projects simultaneously, delivering them successfully from concept through to evaluation.
• Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with senior stakeholders, volunteers and supporters.
• Experience generating income through fundraising activity, sponsorship or supporter engagement.
• Strong budget management skills with experience delivering profitable events and achieving income targets.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with confidence engaging with individuals at a senior level.
• Highly organised with exceptional attention to detail and strong project management skills.
• Creative, innovative and commercially minded, with the ability to identify and develop new opportunities for growth.
• Strong administrative and IT skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities effectively.
