The Role
To competently perform plant operations, installations, handling, assembly, dismantling and other activities on equipment or within the site/workshop environment, and as instructed by Supervisor/Site Supervisor.
Key Objectives
Study & Training
- Review skill levels and update them as necessary to competently carry out the tasks required of a Technician. This will include:
- Basic Health & Safety [British Safety Council level 2 or IOSH managing safely]
- Lifting and Slinging qualification
- 5S Standards
Project Delivery and Operations Support
- Carry out tasks as required for specific projects including the assembly / installation / maintenance / operation and / or dismantling of
- general plant and equipment
- development / test rigs
- Complete and maintain as necessary all associated records and documentation
Internal Communication and Liaison
- Contribute to the development of business by internal referral and communication of appropriate information and intelligence
Person Specification
Qualifications
- Advanced apprenticeship / NVQ Level 4 or BTEC
- NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds in a relevant mechanical engineering discipline
- Level 2 Health & Safety in the Workplace or equivalent – (Relevant Training will be provided)
Experience & Knowledge
- Manufacture and fitting of mechanical parts & assemblies
- Familiar with site / factory work environments
- Lifting & Slinging experience
Skills & Abilities
- Use of hand tools for assembly
- Understands and can work to mechanical engineering drawings
- General Workshop equipment such as pedestal grinder, drill, bandsaw
- Able to organise and prioritise own work
- Able to read and write messages, interpret and carry out instructions
- Maintain simple records and documents in a readable format
Package
Basic Salary £44,290pa – 37.5 hours per week
Overtime – 37.5-60hours per week – Time and half
Overtime – 60+ hours per week or Sundays – Double time
Life Assurance 3x Salary
Subsistence allowance paid for working away (50+ miles away from home location) – £200pw lodge (£50pd, 4 days max) + £25pd Food

Pension – Company contributes 5% Individual contributes 4%
