Job overview
The Locality E-Rostering Advisor will provide dedicated locality-facing support, training and expertise to enable managers and teams to use the Trust’s e-rostering system confidently, consistently and effectively. A central purpose of the role is to build strong, trusted working relationships across localities and corporate services, ensuring that e-rostering practice supports safe staffing, workforce efficiency, service delivery and compliance with Trust policies.
The post holder will act as a visible and accessible point of contact for designated localities, working closely with operational managers, roster creators and system users to understand local challenges, provide hands‑on support, deliver system training, and embed good rostering practice.
The post holder will support the effective deployment of staff resources by analysing roster performance, identifying opportunities for improvement and working collaboratively with locality teams to improve roster efficiency, workforce utilisation and compliance. The role will promote continuous improvement through coaching, practical training, relationship based support and data driven decision making.
The role will promote best practice in roster creation and management, supporting services to maximise workforce resources through a solution focused and customer centred approach.
Main duties of the job
Develop and maintain effective relationships with managers, roster creators and system users, acting as the key locality contact for e-rostering support, guidance and problem resolution. Provide operational support to ensure rosters are accurate, compliant and aligned to workforce establishments, supporting service changes and workforce initiatives.
Plan, deliver and evaluate e-rostering training through workshops, one-to-one coaching, floor-walking and refresher sessions, creating user guidance and identifying opportunities to improve system adoption and competency.
Produce and analyse e-roster and workforce reports, identifying trends, risks and opportunities relating to staffing, temporary workforce usage, annual leave management and roster efficiency. Present data in a meaningful way to support operational and strategic decision-making.
Monitor compliance with Trust rostering standards, policies and approval deadlines, undertaking audits, validating data quality and supporting corrective actions where required.
Work collaboratively with operational services, Workforce, Finance, Temporary Staffing and People & Culture teams to resolve rostering challenges, improve workforce planning and support governance requirements. Contribute to the development of rostering procedures, implementation of new system functionality and wider workforce transformation initiatives, promoting best practice, consistency and continuous improvement across services.
