Overview

We are recruiting a Senior Education Mental Health Practitioner to work in the Mental Health Support Team (MHST) within East Suffolk, based in Woodbridge and Leiston. The position focuses on supporting children and young people experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties through early intervention and evidence‑based practice, within a range of education settings.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide assessment and direct delivery of evidence‑based interventions, utilising CBT and other child and adolescent mental health practices.
  • Supervise Education Mental Health Practitioners (EMHPs) and trainees, supporting their training and professional development.
  • Implement whole‑school/college mental health approaches in collaboration with the school/college community.

Qualifications & experience

  • Professional background in nursing, social work, occupational therapy, psychotherapy, or experienced EMHPs (minimum two years post‑qualified).
  • Relevant qualifications and experience in child and adolescent mental health.

Where we work

The service is located in East Suffolk, based in Woodbridge and Leiston, and works closely with local schools and colleges.
