An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic qualified Psychological Therapist to become part of the integrated mental health and justice pathway working within the 3 local prisons across Norfolk.

You will be welcomed into the prison IAPT services which is a small highly experienced and supportive team with enthusiasm to make a difference! Therapeutic modalities offered within the service include CBT, CAT, counselling and EMDR.

The post holder will have excellent therapeutic skills, cultural competency and be able to be responsive and flexible in working within the busy prison environment. You will be working within a unique environment providing therapeutic assessment and treatment interventions to the prison population, primarily based at HMP Wayland. The role is challenging yet wholly rewarding. Often you will be engaging with individuals who have previously not connected positively with mental health services. It is an opportunity to empower them with skills that can equip them to establish and sustain a fulfilling life on their release back into the community.

You will be given autonomy to manage your individual caseload, with support and expertise from the wider team readily available. Partnership working is essential within the prison environment to ensure a holistic approach to the care of our service users. You will be liaising with our prison services, drug and alcohol services, mental health teams and general medical teams to ensure that every aspect of our service users' health is considered to achieve positive outcomes for them.
