Join Norfolk & Suffolk Foundation Trust (NSFT) Intensive Older Peoples Service and become part of a talented, compassionate and enthusiastic team caring for those of any age with dementia or over 75 experiencing a mental health crisis.
Responsibilities:
- Work independently and support the team; forward thinking, innovative and highly motivated, and keen to work with older people with dementia or mental health crises.
- Engage with older people experiencing a variety of mental health conditions and suspected cognitive difficulties, and with their family members and carers, using good interpersonal, organisational and communication skills.
- Complete urgent and emergency assessments, including risk and safety plans according to service user needs and presentation.
- Request and coordinate hospital admissions when necessary, while striving to avoid unnecessary admissions.
- Act as a duty worker, taking calls and triaging referrals.
- Supervise junior colleagues and students within a supportive multidisciplinary team.
- Drive as required.
Qualifications:
- Experienced nurse with the ability to work autonomously and collaboratively; forward thinking; innovative and highly motivated; good interpersonal, organisational and communication skills, and a valid driving licence.
