Whilst advertised as Band 8a, we welcome applications from newly qualified candidates to commence at Band 7, with support to complete preceptorship requirements to progress to Band 8a.
As part of the NHS long term plan, Norfolk and Waveney have implemented a model of care and support based around integrated care and support delivered around primary care networks. This role links with the four primary care networks across the West Norfolk locality and delivers psychological assessment, formulation and treatment to service users who sit in this space. The role also requires the successful applicant to provide consultation and supervision related to psychological approaches to staff working in the primary care network space. The successful applicant will work closely with both the adult CMHT and primary care in West Norfolk. The post is based at Chatterton House in Kings Lynn, working across the West Norfolk Locality. The role will predominantly involve working with the primary care network in West Norfolk.
The post holder will hold a number of responsibilities including:
- Providing a timely and considered evidence‑based psychologically informed response and treatment to clinically complex situations in primary care.
- Providing clarity for service users on their difficulties and what might be most helpful for them.
- Supporting the PCN‑MHP in their role with clinical issues.
- Initiating thinking from service users and clinicians about consistent treatment pathways for the person's difficulty.
- Developing links between primary and secondary mental health care.
- Attending meetings that are within scope of the interface psychology team such as initial assessment meetings, interface and triage.
This advert details an exciting opportunity for career development for Clinical Psychologists or suitably trained and experienced Counselling or Forensic Psychologists, or Psychotherapists to join NSFT. The post-holder will be part of the wider Norfolk Psychology team and will receive clinical supervision, professional and governance support from within the team. Within the West Norfolk psychology team, we employ a diverse and supportive team of psychologists, including clinical psychologists, CBT, CAT and DBT therapists, Art Therapy, Clinical Associate Psychologists and Assistant Psychologists and we are able to offer our team members the opportunity to continue to develop their expertise via training and development opportunities in different parts of our service.
