If you are passionate about supporting the mental health of older people and are interested in working with people of all ages with dementia or other neurological conditions, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Qualified Clinical Associate in Psychology (CAP) to join the Older Persons’ Community Service based in Ipswich. If you feel enthusiastic about service user and carer involvement in service development and enjoy delivering psychologically informed individual and group interventions, we would like to hear from you.

The post holder will need experience in completing assessments, running groups and delivering mental health interventions in person. They will also be required to support and work collaboratively with our colleagues within the CMHT's and other organisations and allied teams in our care group.

Duties:
  • The provision of psychological assessment, formulation, individual and group interventions for older people and people of all ages with dementia.
  • Working closely with qualified Clinical Psychologists to set up clinical pathways, undertaking appropriate clinical work under the supervision of a Clinical Psychologist, and conducting ad-hoc assessments alongside the clinical psychologists observing older people at home and in care settings.
  • Structured information gathering from older people, relatives, carers and care staff including life histories using service proformas; active participation in multidisciplinary case discussion and formulation meetings; involvement in development of policies and project work and data gathering for audit and research purposes.
