We are excited to offer an opportunity to join CAIST, our under 18’s Crisis Service as a Senior Mental Health Practitioner supporting young people and their families across Norfolk and Waveney.
Locations: East, Central & West Norfolk – we allocate a base closest to where you live. The role is peripatetic so you may need to travel independently to different sites. The CAIST service is 7 days a week, 08:00-20:00.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct clinical work (crisis assessment and intensive support) with children under 18 presenting in crisis, alongside families and carers.
- Collaborate with other mental health services and social care teams to support the needs of young people.
- Work as part of a multidisciplinary team and may have supervisory responsibilities for junior colleagues.
- Offer community-based intensive support to children, young people & their families.
- Establish trusting therapeutic relationships and reduce risks when children & young people may be experiencing high levels of distress.
Qualifications
- Experience working with children and young people is highly desirable but we welcome candidates from a range of clinical backgrounds with experience in other areas of mental health.
- Demonstrated ability to work within a multidisciplinary team and collaborate with other services.
- Strong communication skills and a compassionate approach to working with children, young people & families.
- Commitment to NHS values of mutual respect, compassion, integrity and collaborative working.
