Join CAIST, our under‑18 Crisis Service, as a Senior Mental Health Practitioner supporting young people and their families across Norfolk and Waveney. CAIST is based in East, Central & West Norfolk. The role is peripatetic and may involve travel to different sites, so independent travel is essential. Service hours are 08:00‑20:00, 7 days a week.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct clinical work, including crisis assessment and individual interventions for children under 18 who present in crisis and their families and carers where appropriate.
- Work collaboratively with other mental health services, social care teams and the multidisciplinary team to support the needs of young people.
- Carry out supervisory responsibilities for junior colleagues.
- Help establish trusting therapeutic relationships, reduce risks, and facilitate service user collaboration and shared decision‑making.
Qualifications
- Experience working with children and young people, or a clinical background in mental health.
- Ability to travel independently and work on a peripatetic schedule.
- Demonstrated ability to work within a multidisciplinary team and collaborate with other professionals.
