This Matron post is an exciting opportunity for those looking to progress in managing responsibility for the clinical, operational, performance and financial management functions of the West Suffolk Crisis Resolution Home Treatment Team. This post is based at Wedgwood House.

This involves ensuring effective and efficient resource utilisation; the delivery of evidence-based patient care and these services are safe. In conjunction with the lead clinician, the matron will provide clear, visible leadership, strategic vision and clinical expertise to enhance the service user experience.

The Matron will provide strong clinical and operational leadership for the Crisis Resolution Home Treatment Team, ensuring the highest standards of patient safety, quality, dignity, and care are embedded in everyday practice. As a visible and accessible leader, they will support patients, carers, and staff while promoting a culture of continuous improvement and excellence.

Key Responsibilities Include

  • Leading the delivery of safe, high-quality, patient-centred care.
  • Acting as a Dignity Champion, ensuring respect and dignity are central to all care provided.
  • Providing visible and authoritative leadership across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Driving evidence-based practice and service improvement initiatives.
  • Overseeing governance, quality standards, and compliance with regulatory requirements, including CQC and CQUIN frameworks.
  • Leading risk management and promoting a proactive approach to patient safety.
  • Ensuring service users remain at the heart of care delivery and decision-making.
  • Implementing the NHS Matron principles and contributing to the Trust’s quality and improvement agenda.
  • Being accountable to the Associate Director of Nursing and Quality for service improvements and performance outcomes.

This role is ideal for an experienced and inspirational nursing leader who is passionate about improving inpatient services, developing staff, and delivering outstanding care for patients.
