Systems Engineering Manager – Defence & Aerospace
- £65,000 – £80,000 salary with excellent benefits

ABOUT THE CLIENT:
Our client is a global leader in defence and aerospace technology, with a strong track record of delivering innovative solutions to both military and civil customers. Their products are designed and manufactured in the UK, exported globally, and play a vital role in national security and air traffic management. Due to continued growth, they are now seeking a Systems Engineering Manager to lead their systems engineering function and support a wide portfolio of programmes.

THE SYSTEMS ENGINEERING MANAGER ROLE:
As Systems Engineering Manager, you will oversee a team of around 10+ systems engineers, supporting programmes across both civil and defence domains. You will provide technical leadership, resource management, and strategic guidance to ensure successful delivery of systems engineering activities across the full product development lifecycle. Responsibilities will include:
- Leading requirements analysis and management, from capture through to sub-system specifications
- Driving systems design, integration, verification and validation tasks
- Supporting bids and proposal development with technical input
- Overseeing compliance activities and roadmaps for emerging technologies
- Managing team capability development and workload allocation across multiple projects
- Building strong relationships with internal teams, suppliers, and strategic partners
SYSTEMS ENGINEERING MANAGER ESSENTIAL SKILLS:
- Degree in engineering or related discipline
- Proven experience managing a systems engineering team across the full lifecycle
- Strong workload management skills, balancing priorities across multiple projects
- Stakeholder engagement and relationship management experience
- Analytical problem-solver with strong technical leadership skills
- SC clearance or eligibility required
