Overview

  • Day to Day project management of TS Network Sensors project in the UK.
  • Act as single point of contact for internal and external suppliers delivering for a number of projects. Coordinate activities\’, align with project scope and ensure delivery within VM/LG processes
  • Manage and maintain project plans. Produce own project plan or develop joint project plans with internal and external teams
  • Deliver weekly project progress reports to the Sub-Portfolio Manager
  • Manage delivery of project documentation and approvals. To be stored securely in a central location
  • Report directly to the Sub-Portfolio Manager
  • Manage virtual delivery teams to progress project delivery in a timely manner
  • Ensure all stakeholders are engaged and supportive
  • Follow Change Control process to ensure the safe delivery of projects with minimal customer impacts
  • Follow the standard gated VMO2 project deliver process

Responsibilities

  • Delivery of Core Engineering projects to agreed scope
  • Delivery of projects to VMO2 project process within the Change Control process
  • Managing project budgets to forecast
  • Project reporting to Sub-Portfolio Manager
  • Management of internal and external teams to enable efficient project delivery
  • Direct point of contact for TSA team
    • Development & Managing Project Plans
    • Storage and control of project documentation with VM compliance guidelines
    • Arranging and chairing regular project conference calls and meetings

    Escalating project risks and issues to the Sub-Portfolio Manager

Qualifications

Preferred education/ qualifications:

  • Essential – recognised technical qualification in a relevant area (project management – network communications- consumer electronics – engineering)
  • Relevant experience in project delivery in a controlled project environment
  • Fluent spoken and written English

Knowledge & Experience:

  • Project Management of Network platforms
  • Technical understanding of the building blocks of fixed/mobile networks
  • 7+ years\’ experience within a telecom environment
  • Knowledge of Agile and Waterfall methodologies
  • Knowledge of the VMO2 network an advantage
  • Knowledge of Remedy Change Management system
  • Knowledge of Oracle Procurement
  • Proven track record of project delivery
  • Knowledge of Jira and Confluence Management application

  • Excellent communication skills with both technical and business audiences
  • Ability to work in an often-changing, collaborative environment and manage multiple stakeholders
  • Must have strong network related problem-solving skills
  • Ability to be supportive, consultative, and collaborative and to work effectively across national boundaries
  • Ability to quickly understand business objectives and to recognise and capitalise on market opportunities
  • Able to cope with pressure and demanding timescales without comprising quality and integrity
  • Self-motivated with the ability to continually self-monitor & develop
  • The ability to build relationships and convey authority when needed at all levels to resolve conflicts and maintain direction
  • At ease and effective in operating in an international working environment
  • Experience in Technical Project Management
  • Proven background in the delivery of projects relating to legacy voice replacement with new technology
