Our client is seeking a reliable and proactive Facilities Assistant to play a key role in the smooth day-to-day running of a busy educational campus. This position is central to maintaining safe, functional, and well-organised facilities that support both learning and wider school activities.
Working across the estate, the successful candidate will provide hands-on facilities support, oversee site logistics, assist with events and activities, and ensure that standards of health, safety, and presentation are consistently upheld.
Key Responsibilities- Support the daily operation and upkeep of buildings, grounds, and associated facilities
- Assist with setting up and breaking down spaces for school activities, events, and examinations
- Carry out routine checks, basic repairs, and preventative maintenance tasks
- Monitor site safety, security, and access, responding appropriately to issues as they arise
- Liaise with staff, contractors, and visitors in a professional and courteous manner
- Provide operational support at off-site playing fields located a short distance from the main campus
- Maintain accurate records using internal ICT-based systems
- Work both independently and collaboratively as part of the wider site and estates team
- Act as a school First Aider when required (full training will be provided)
- Support emergency procedures and contribute to a safe environment for students and staff
The ideal candidate will be practical, organised, and confident working in a fast-paced environment with young people and professionals alike. You will bring:
- Practical Maintenance, Facilities &/or Estates experience
- The ability to work without close supervision while remaining a strong team player
- A calm, professional approach and good situational awareness
- Basic IT skills and confidence using digital systems
- A flexible and solution-focused mindset
- A full UK driving licence is desirable due to travel between sites.
This is a stable, full-time opportunity offering variety, responsibility, and the chance to make a meaningful contribution to a well-run educational environment. Training and support will be provided where required.
