We have built a global platform that provides trusted USD accounts, global payments, and investments for individuals from distressed economies, where inflation is high and banking systems are unstable. Our compliance-by-design approach and proprietary technology allow us to deliver these services securely and at scale. To date, nsave has raised $22M from leading investors including Sequoia Capital, TQ Ventures, Y Combinator, and SV Angel. Our team has grown 200% in the last year, and with so much more ahead, we're just getting started!

Location: Bangladesh (Dhaka preferred)

Engagement Type: Independent Contractor

About the Role

As our Backend Engineer, you will build and scale the infrastructure powering nsave's financial services. Working closely with the CTO and engineering team, you'll own critical backend subsystems — from service architecture and reliability to security and compliance integrations — serving tens of thousands of users across multiple jurisdictions.

Who You Are

  • Strong engineering fundamentals: You build and optimise software systems with solid knowledge of clean architecture, layered abstractions, and complexity tradeoffs.
  • Broad platform knowledge: You're comfortable across backend architecture, databases, site reliability, infrastructure as code, and CI/CD.
  • Security-minded: You can design and manage robust financial systems with high security and compliance requirements.
  • Business-oriented: Your technical decisions are informed by product and business context, and you know how to balance speed with quality.

How You'll Make a Difference

  • Design, implement, and own critical infrastructure — including service architecture, reliability, build and release, and integration with compliance and banking services.
  • Proactively improve system health by identifying weak spots in the codebase and infrastructure, and prioritising fixes.
  • Collaborate with engineering, product, and operations teams to ship features across multiple markets.
  • Contribute to engineering best practices, code quality, and process improvements as we scale.

What We're Looking For

  • Experience in backend engineering, platform engineering, or infrastructure roles.
  • Proficiency in backend languages and frameworks relevant to scalable financial systems.
  • Ability to operate independently and execute in fast-moving environments.
  • Experience in startups, fintech, or regulated environments is strongly preferred.

nsave Values

  • Service — "Mission First": We put the mission, our customers, and our team above self.
  • Urgency — "Stay focused. Move fast": We act with urgency and intention, concentrating on what matters most.
  • Ownership — "Act as an Owner": We take responsibility for outcomes end-to-end.
  • Standards — "Pursue Excellence": We hold ourselves to high personal standards and continuously improve.

We are deeply motivated by nsave's mission and the problems we are solving. We thrive in high-ownership, high-accountability environments, are comfortable operating with urgency and ambiguity, and want to build from first principles in an early-stage, high-growth company.
