Location: Reading / Slough area (100% On-site)

Type: Full-time

We’re looking for a Procurement Manager who knows that a "chiller" isn’t just a place to keep drinks cold. If you understand the lifecycle of a commercial HVAC system, know how to spot hidden margins in an FM contractor's proposal, and want to actively manage our physical operations across the Reading and Slough corridor, we want to talk to you.

In this role, you’ll take full ownership of our Hard and Soft Facilities Management (FM) spend, with a heavy focus on Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) operations. Because this is a hands-on, on-site role, you'll be close to the action, working directly with our engineering teams to optimize our estate.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead the Charge: Own the end-to-end sourcing process for Hard FM (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire & life safety) and Soft FM (cleaning, security, waste management).
  • Draft & Negotiate: Build robust, performance-driven contracts (JCT, NEC4, or bespoke SLAs) with clear KPIs that actually hold vendors accountable.
  • Challenge the Status Quo: Work closely with our on-site engineering and operations teams to review technical scopes, preventing "scope creep" before tenders go out.
  • Manage Relationships: Drive a strategic Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) program to ensure our critical vendors deliver top-tier service.
  • Keep us Green & Compliant: Integrate ESG targets into our supply chain and ensure 100% statutory building compliance across our local portfolio.

What We’re Looking For:

  • The Technical Edge: You don’t need an engineering degree, but you do need to speak the language of facilities managers and M&E contractors.
  • The Procurement Toolkit: 3–5+ years of experience specifically in FM/M&E procurement.
  • Contract Savvy: Proven experience negotiating complex service agreements and managing contractor disputes calmly and commercially.
  • Logistics: Ability to work full-time, on-site across our Reading/Slough facilities.
  • Qualifications: CIPS/MCIPS is a huge plus, but solid, proven estate/facilities procurement experience is what matters most.
