Are you ready to make a real impact? We're looking for an experienced Technical Manager to join our growing electrical contracting business and help drive the next stage of our development. This is not a role for someone who simply wants to maintain the status quo. We're looking for a proactive leader who can bring fresh ideas, challenge existing processes, and help us raise standards across quality, compliance, technical delivery, and operational performance. You'll have the opportunity to shape the future direction of the department, influence positive change throughout the business, and play a key role in building a stronger, more efficient, and higher-quality organisation.

The Role

  • Provide technical leadership across the business while driving continuous improvement in how we operate.
  • Working closely with the senior leadership team, identify opportunities to improve systems, processes, quality standards, and compliance procedures, ensuring we continue to deliver exceptional service to our clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead technical compliance and quality standards across the business.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to operational teams.
  • Ensure compliance with current electrical regulations and industry standards.
  • Manage and improve quality assurance processes.
  • Support audits, accreditations, and compliance requirements.
  • Review technical procedures and implement improvements.
  • Investigate technical issues and drive corrective actions.
  • Support project delivery and provide technical oversight where required.
  • Mentor and develop engineers and technical staff.
  • Work with senior management to shape departmental strategy and future growth.

About You

We're looking for someone who combines strong technical expertise with a genuine passion for improvement and innovation. You'll be confident challenging existing ways of working, introducing new ideas, and influencing positive change at all levels of the business.

Essential Requirements

  • Significant experience within the electrical contracting industry.
  • Strong knowledge of BS 7671 and current electrical regulations.
  • Experience in a technical, compliance, quality, or operational management role.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Strong leadership and communication abilities.
  • Experience driving process improvement and business change.
  • A proactive and commercially aware approach.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Desirable Qualifications

  • City & Guilds 2391 Inspection & Testing.
  • City & Guilds 2382 (18th Edition).
  • HNC/HND or equivalent in Electrical Engineering.
  • Experience with NICEIC, ISO 9001, or similar accreditations.
