The role involves providing competent advice, monitoring site activities, and promoting a strong safety culture across a highly regulated nuclear project.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide expert health and safety advice to project teams involved in nuclear separation and decommissioning activitiesEnsure compliance with UK legislation, including the Health and Safety at Work Act, CDM Regulations, and nuclear-specific regulatory requirementsSupport the development, implementation, and review of Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS)Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and safety tours, identifying hazards and ensuring corrective actions are implementedMonitor contractor performance and ensure adherence to site safety standards and permit-to-work systemsAssist in incident investigation, root cause analysis, and reporting, ensuring lessons learned are communicated effectivelyPromote a positive safety culture through engagement, coaching, and behavioural safety initiativesLiaise with regulatory bodies, including the Office for Nuclear Regulation (ONR), as requiredMaintain accurate health and safety records and documentationQualificationsNEBOSH General Certificate (essential)NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent (desirable)Membership of IOSH (e.g., Tech IOSH / Grad IOSH / CMIOSH preferred)Relevant nuclear site training/clearance (e.g., SC/DV clearance may be required)About NRLThe NRL Group connect global companies with the right people to bring engineering projects to life.
