About the Role
Seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer and Senior Electrical Engineer with a strong background in oil and gas projects to join an engineering team in Woking. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining electrical systems for complex energy projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations. This is an excellent opportunity to work on global energy projects and contribute to innovative solutions in the oil and gas sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop electrical systems for oil and gas facilities, including offshore and onshore projects.
- Prepare technical drawings, specifications, and compliance documentation.
- Perform electrical load calculations and ensure adherence to IEC, BS, and ATEX standards.
- Conduct site inspections and support commissioning activities.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including mechanical, process, and instrumentation engineers.
- Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues during design and execution phases.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Requirements
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in electrical engineering within oil and gas or energy projects.
- Strong knowledge of hazardous area classifications (ATEX) and electrical safety standards.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, ETAP, or similar electrical design software.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Desirable
- Experience with HV/LV systems, power distribution, and control systems.
- Knowledge of renewable energy integration within oil and gas projects.
- Membership of a professional body (IET or similar).
