Senior Stress Engineer β Contract
Location: Hybrid working available (typically 2 days onsite, 2 days remote)We're supporting a specialist engineering organisation delivering complex mechanical handling, lifting and containment solutions within a highly regulated sector.
They are looking to appoint an experienced Senior Stress Engineer to join a multi-disciplinary design team on a contract basis.
The role will focus on the production, review and approval of calculation and analysis reports, ensuring designs are robust, compliant and fit for purpose.
The successful candidate will work closely with engineering leadership, designers and project teams to provide technical guidance and stress analysis expertise throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities Produce and supervise detailed stress calculations and analysis reports.
Undertake finite element analysis (FEA) and classical hand calculations.
Liaise with clients and subcontractors to define substantiation requirements.
Develop improved calculation methodologies and engineering practices.
What We're Looking For Degree-qualified in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
Minimum five years' stress analysis experience.
Strong experience with both classical stress calculations and finite element analysis.
Ability to produce high-quality technical reports and communicate complex engineering concepts clearly.
Nuclear industry experience.
Seismic analysis and assessment experience.
