We are seeking a dedicated Emergency Response Officer to ensure compliance with COMAH regulations and emergency preparedness at a high-risk industrial site. This role is central to developing emergency plans, conducting risk assessments, training staff, and coordinating responses to incidents. The Emergency Response Officer will work closely with internal teams and external agencies to mitigate risks and uphold site safety standards.

As an Emergency Officer, you will:

  • Conduct safety inspections, audits, and risk assessment reviews to uphold emergency readiness.
  • Develop, implement, and regularly review emergency plans, including contingency protocols for major incidents.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, emergency responders, and site teams to refine preparedness measures.
  • Conduct detailed risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities and mitigate potential hazards.
  • Develop and deliver emergency training programs for staff, contractors, and response teams.
  • Plan and execute emergency drills, ensuring practical preparedness and continuous improvement.
  • Coordinate real-time emergency response efforts, including activating plans, liaising with emergency services, and supporting affected personnel.
  • Maintain up-to-date records of emergency plans, risk assessments, training logs, and incident reports.
  • Work with internal teams, external agencies, and local emergency services to share critical response information.
  • Assist in developing emergency response, preparedness, and recovery strategies aligned with best practices.
  • Ensure policies remain current, practical, and compliant with evolving legislation.
  • Stay updated on emergency planning legislation and best practices in resilience management.
  • Identify areas for continuous improvement in site emergency procedures and response effectiveness.

Formal qualifications in emergency planning, safety management, or a related field (preferred). Knowledge of COMAH regulations, emergency response principles, and resilience strategies. Proficiency in relevant IT systems and software (e.g., Microsoft Office, incident tracking systems). Proactive and adaptable in high-risk environments.
