Site Quality Engineer (Piping)

Summary We’re looking for an experienced Site Quality Engineer (Piping) to join our team and support a major nuclear power plant construction project in the United Kingdom. Responsibilities

  • Communicate and manage all Witness and Hold Points as per Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs).
  • Review and approve quality documents, including ITPs, welding procedures and material certificates.
  • Witness inspections and testing activities on piping systems to ensure compliance.
  • Coordinate with external inspectors and regulatory authorities for inspections and approvals.
  • Identify and report deviations, initiate corrective actions and confirm resolution effectiveness.
  • Maintain documentation and traceability for piping components and welds.
  • Ensure timely submission of records and quality documentation.
  • Participate in audits and support quality improvement initiatives.

Must‑have Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related discipline.
  • 3–5 years’ experience in quality engineering for piping systems in large-scale industrial or nuclear projects.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical erection processes and quality standards.
  • Familiarity with nuclear safety regulations (PESR-PED).
  • Valid certification in non‑destructive testing (NDT).
  • Skilled in interpreting drawings, working with inspection practices and using quality management systems.

Nice‑to‑have Skills

  • Proficiency in digital inspection tools and systems.
  • Experience working with contractors and regulatory bodies.
