Job Description

About the Opportunity:

NRL is recruiting for a Project Manager to support a major client.

Working on one of the UK’s flagship new developments, you’ll build core knowledge and capability within the New industry. Joining a newly established Business Unit, this role offers the opportunity to contribute during a period of innovation and change, with scope for your input and impact to be recognised.

The Civil Works Programme consists of multiple projects delivered over a 10-year period, with delivery responsibility shared across a number of accountable participants.

What You’ll Be Doing:

As a Project Manager, you’ll provide programme-level oversight across your allocated scope, ensuring engineering, design, and procurement activities are effectively coordinated and delivered in line with project requirements.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Maintaining a global overview of nuclear plant Systems, Structures and Components (SSCs) within your programme.
  • Ensuring the timely delivery of engineering studies by the Responsible Designer or key contractors in line with regulatory requirements.
  • Supporting the development of post-FID contract packages, including terms and conditions, contractual appendices, and technical specifications.
  • Driving the incorporation of site-specific design changes into programme design deliverables.
  • Managing internal and external interfaces across contracts, systems, and programme scopes.
  • Engaging early with stakeholders and suppliers to identify obsolescence risks and wider risks to replication.
  • Managing the technical aspects of procurement activities for assigned contracts.
  • Embedding lessons learned and knowledge capture as standard practice.

What You’ll Need:

  • Degree and Chartered status in Project Management, Construction, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Strong understanding of project management principles, with experience managing construction activities.
  • Proven experience delivering major projects from concept through to handover within complex environments.
  • Demonstrated success coordinating multi-disciplinary design and procurement teams.
  • Engineering background (mechanical, electrical, process, systems, or civil) within large industrial plant environments.
  • Experience managing complex contracts, including cost, risk, schedule, and change control using Earned Value techniques.
  • Experience supporting the close-out of commercial claims and associated negotiations.

Benefits:

  • Competitive salary and benefits package to attract and retain top talent.
  • Free single medical cover and digital GP services.
  • Family-friendly benefits, including enhanced parental leave pay.
  • Free membership of employee assistance and parental programs.
  • Reimbursement for relevant professional development and memberships.
  • Opportunities to engage with the Collectively program, including matched-funding, paid volunteering time, and charitable donations.

Location:

  • Leiston, Suffolk
  • 4 days per week on site
  • 1 day working from home
