Location: Bridgwater, England, United Kingdom

Salary: £70,000 (DOE)

Work Pattern: On-site, 4–5 days per week

Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled HVAC Engineer to join a leading engineering project in Bridgwater. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with a strong background in hands-on HVAC installation who has progressed into a supervisory or site management role. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of construction sequencing, the ability to interpret technical drawings/BIM models, and the confidence to engage with multiple stakeholders in a complex site environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and support the on-site installation of HVAC systems.
  • Interpret and work from construction drawings and BIM models.
  • Coordinate with mechanical and electrical installation teams to ensure proper construction sequencing.
  • Engage with a wide range of stakeholders, including contractors, engineers, and project managers.
  • Ensure work is carried out in line with Health & Safety regulations, CDM, and Nuclear Site License requirements.
  • Report on site progress, proactively identify issues, and escalate where necessary.
  • Champion site-level quality assurance and compliance with technical specifications.

Key Requirements

  • Degree or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline (e.g., Mechanical Engineering, Building Services).
  • Proven experience in HVAC system installation on-site.
  • Track record of progressing from a hands-on trade role (e.g., HVAC installer) to supervisor or site manager level.
  • Strong understanding of construction sequencing for mechanical and/or electrical systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and BIM models.
  • Solid understanding of the construction and installation industry.
  • Familiarity with UK Health & Safety legislation, CDM regulations, and Nuclear Site License standards.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritise effectively, and take ownership of site-related challenges.
