Overview

In this role you will lead scaffold and temporary works design across complex civil engineering projects from our Watford base, blending hands-on technical delivery with team leadership.

You will shape a specialist design function, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver safe, efficient temporary works solutions.

You will apply TG20, SG4 and BS EN 12811 standards to demanding schemes and mentor engineers to grow.

This role offers exposure to large-scale infrastructure and a pathway to Chartered status.

Responsibilities

  • Lead scaffold and temporary works design across complex project portfolios
  • Deliver hands-on technical design work and ensure quality
  • Provide leadership to design teams and manage multiple workstreams
  • Contribute to growth and development of a specialist design function
  • Collaborate with other functions to ensure project delivery and compliance
  • Key requirements
  • Proven experience in a scaffold design consultancy environment (e. g. 48.3, RDG or similar)
  • Strong background in temporary works and structural design within civil engineering projects
  • Demonstrable knowledge of scaffold design standards TG20, SG4 and BS EN 12811
  • Experience leading teams, managing multiple workstreams and contributing to team development
  • Degree-qualified in Civil or Structural Engineering, with Chartered status or working towards it
