Health & Safety Advisor Location: Sellafield, Cumbria Salary: Β£60,000 - Β£65,000 per annum The Opportunity We are seeking an experienced Health & Safety Advisor to support the safe delivery of nuclear separation and decommissioning activities at Sellafield. Working within a highly regulated environment, you will provide expert health and safety guidance, promote best practices, and ensure compliance with all applicable legislation and regulatory requirements. This is an excellent opportunity to join a major nuclear programme and play a key role in maintaining the highest standards of safety, risk management, and environmental compliance. Key Responsibilities * Provide professional health and safety advice and support to project teams involved in nuclear separation and decommissioning activities.* Ensure compliance with UK health and safety legislation, including the Health and Safety at Work Act, CDM Regulations, and nuclear industry regulatory requirements.* Support the development, review, and implementation of Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).* Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and safety tours, identifying hazards and ensuring effective corrective actions are implemented.* Monitor contractor performance and ensure adherence to site safety standards, procedures, and permit-to-work systems.* Assist with incident investigations, root cause analysis, and reporting, promoting the effective sharing of lessons learned.* Drive a positive safety culture through engagement, coaching, and behavioural safety initiatives.* Liaise with internal stakeholders and external regulatory bodies, including the Office for Nuclear Regulation (ONR), where required.* Maintain accurate health and safety records, reports, and documentation.* Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance health and safety performance across the project.Candidate Requirements Essential * NEBOSH General Certificate.* Proven experience in a Health & Safety Advisor role within a highly regulated industrial environment.* Strong knowledge of UK health and safety legislation and best practice.* Experience conducting audits, inspections, and incident investigations.* Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.* Ability to influence teams and promote a positive safety culture.* Strong organisational and reporting skills.Desirable * NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent qualification.* Membership of IOSH (Tech IOSH, Grad IOSH or CMIOSH).* Previous experience within the nuclear sector, major infrastructure, engineering, construction, or decommissioning projects.* Knowledge of nuclear regulatory requirements and permit-to-work systems.* Existing security clearance or ability to obtain site security clearance. #J-18808-Ljbffr
