Role Type: Perm or Contract (Open rate and Salary- DOE)

Location: Seascale/Whitehaven

Hours: 38 hours per week Mon-Fri

Key Requirements

  • Proven experience as an Electrical Estimator within Process, Power Generation, Pharmaceutical, and Oil & Gas industries (essential)
  • Strong technical knowledge of Electrical, Instrumentation, and Special Systems (essential)
  • Electrical or Instrumentation Degree or Trade Qualification (essential)
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar estimating role

Specific Objectives & Responsibilities

  • Review client specifications and tender documentation in detail to fully understand scope and requirements
  • Ensure all tender documentation is technically accurate, compliant, and commercially competitive
  • Prepare and submit Electrical & Instrumentation tenders within required deadlines
  • Develop a strong understanding of contractual terms and conditions, with the ability to discuss and negotiate these with clients
  • Liaise with customers to review, interpret, and clarify electrical and instrumentation specifications
  • Attend site visits, client briefings, and pre-award meetings as required
  • Obtain and evaluate supplier and sub-contractor quotations
  • Maintain accurate electrical specification confirmations for all contracts, including identifying and costing variations, upcharges, and concessions
  • Finalise tender bids and support the transition from tender stage to project handover, working closely with Project Managers
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, suppliers, and internal stakeholders
  • Support project teams throughout the lifecycle of projects, from tender through to contract award and handover
  • Work efficiently under tight deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail

  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills
  • High proficiency in IT systems and estimating tools
  • Advanced user of MS Excel, with good working knowledge of MS Word and PowerPoint
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills
  • Strong communication and negotiation abilities
  • A proven track record of successfully delivering accurate and competitive tenders
