These are contract positions for 12 months, based in our client’s strong Glasgow /strong city centre office with hybrid flexibility and excellent rates for professionals with electrical, control and instrumentation design expertise. /p p br /p p strong Salary /strong /p ul li Principal Engineer: £60 – £75 per hour /li li Senior Engineer: £50 – £65 per hour /li /ul p Rates are on an Umbrella basis, strong inside IR35 /strong /p p br /p p strong Location and Working Pattern /strong /p p Glasgow city centre office – hybrid working, ideally at least two office days per week /p p br /p p strong Client Overview /strong /p p Our client is a leading engineering consultancy delivering complex infrastructure projects to the defence sector. Their reputation for technical excellence and safety ensures they remain a trusted provider for nationally critical programmes. /p p br /p p strong Responsibilities /strong /p ul li Deliver EC I design for new infrastructure /li li Design HV and LV electrical systems and integrate communications systems such as SCADA, networks, and telecoms /li li Prepare building services designs including lighting, small power, earthing, and lightning protection /li li Lead and mentor junior team members, ensuring high-quality project outputs /li li Produce technical scopes and resource estimates for design changes /li li Develop system specifications aligned with client requirements /li li Manage design risks, assumptions, and design change control processes /li li Ensure the team delivers activities aligned with programme priorities /li /ul p br /p p strong Must-have Requirements /strong /p ul li strong Eligibility for UK Security Clearance /strong (British-born UK citizen, with no overseas work in the last 5 years) /li li Significant EC I design experience on complex infrastructure projects /li li Strong understanding of HV and LV systems and associated communications systems /li li Building services design experience /li li Competency in strong Trimble/Amtech /strong and strong Dialux /strong ; strong ETAP /strong experience desirable /li li Ability to lead and guide junior engineering staff /li /ul p br /p p strong Nice-to-have Skills /strong /p ul li Previous experience in defence or nuclear sectors /li li Familiarity with design assurance and governance processes /li /ul p br /p
