Job Title Construction Logistics Manager

This is a site-based role. Engagement options are flexible – available on either a contractor or PAYE basis.

Summary We’re looking for an experienced Construction Logistics Manager to join a major Data Centre project in Middlesbrough. If you have proven expertise in managing complex site logistics and ensuring safe, efficient movement of materials and vehicles, this role offers you the chance to play a pivotal part in a high-profile construction project. Ideal for someone with strong organisational skills and a hands‑on approach to safety and delivery planning.

Client Overview Our client operates within the Data Centre construction sector, delivering large-scale and technically complex infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all site logistics operations and ensure smooth daily activities.
  • Coordinate and monitor all deliveries, vehicle movements, and traffic management.
  • Implement and maintain safe pedestrian routes and segregation measures.
  • Oversee site access, gate operations, and logistics staffing.
  • Plan and enforce delivery schedules, booking systems, and movement permits.
  • Work closely with subcontractors, suppliers, and the project team to resolve operational bottlenecks.
  • Maintain accurate records of deliveries, permits, and logistics-related documentation.
  • Conduct logistics briefings and support emergency planning efforts.

Must-have Requirements

  • Valid CSCS Card.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in construction site logistics.
  • Prior role as Logistics Manager, Senior Logistics Coordinator, or equivalent.
  • Strong knowledge of traffic management, delivery coordination, and site setup logistics.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and digital record systems.
  • Excellent communication skills and a proactive attitude towards Health & Safety.

Nice-to-have Skills

  • SMSTS certification or similar site management training.
  • First Aid at Work qualification.
  • Temporary works and traffic management experience.
  • Background in large-scale commercial, infrastructure, or mixed-use projects.
