Overview
NRL are looking for C&I Commissioning Technicians to be part of the site commissioning team on a hydrogen generation project in Methil area, Fife. The role is for an approximate 3-4 month period.
Hours
Hours: 38 hours basic, typically 55 hours on site, with a 5 Day Week (Mon-Fri) or 6 Day Week (Sun-Fri).
Reporting
The role reports directly into the Site Commissioning Manager and delegated Lead C&I Engineer.
Responsibilities
- To read & interpret applicable technical information including loop diagrams, schematics, P&IDs, instrument lists, alarm lists, C&E diagrams, equipment O&M manuals, codes, and specifications.
- Support as required Site Acceptance Tests.
- Conduct detailed equipment, subsystem, Mechanical Completion walk-downs.
- Carry out commissioning and testing activities in line with written commissioning procedures.
- Commissioning activities undertaken in accordance with the commissioning programme.
- Ensure all commissioning dossiers are maintained with up-to-date check sheets and commissioning records.
- Identifying, recording, and rectifying faults.
- Provide C&I support to vendor activities.
- Maintaining a contemporary daily log of work undertaken.
Qualifications / Experience
The candidate should ideally have an HNC in Control and Instrumentation Engineering or have significant and relevant time-served control and instrumentation commissioning experience with a background in the energy, process or hydrocarbon industry.
The position requires experience and an in-depth knowledge of instrumentation installation checks, calibration checks, loop checking, and troubleshooting.
Experience in the C&I commissioning of the following equipment is required:
- Pressure, temperature, level and flow transmitters
- Process gas & heat detection systems
- Analyzers and metering systems
- Vendor packages such as air compressors and emergency diesel generators
- HVAC
- CCTV
- Local control panels
- PLC systems (SCADA, ICSS, SIS, ESD)
Experience with SIS, controls tuning, data exchange communications protocols, and HMI formats would be an advantage. CompEx (Ex01-Ex04) certification would be desirable.
