About the Role

As a Senior Safety Engineer, you will join our world-class Technical/Process Safety team. Ideally based in our Glasgow or Edinburgh office, you will play a key role in supporting and leading safety projects across high-hazard industries such as Oil & Gas, Low Carbon, and Renewables. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the energy transition while mentoring junior engineers and developing your own technical expertise.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver technically excellent safety projects.
  • Conduct safety assessments including consequence analysis, QRA, Formal Safety Assessments, and Safety Case/COMAH compliance.
  • Author high-quality technical reports.
  • Lead and mentor junior engineers.
  • Prepare proposals and cost estimates for new work scopes.
  • Ensure project delivery aligns with scope, budget, and schedule.
  • Engage directly with clients and build strong relationships.
  • Perform additional tasks as required, aligned with your skills and development goals.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree in a relevant engineering or related discipline.
  • Chartered status with a recognized institution.
  • Proven experience in Process/Technical Safety, ideally within the Energy sector.
  • Strong background in risk and safety management.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead projects and meet delivery/cost targets.
  • Proficiency in QRA and consequence analysis (preferably using PHAST).
  • Familiarity with COMAH and Safety Case Regulations.
  • Skilled in technical report writing and reviewing.
  • Experience contributing to successful bids and proposals.
