Senior Safety Engineer Location: Glasgow or Edinburgh About the Role As a Senior Safety Engineer to join our world-class Technical/Process Safety team. Ideally based in our Glasgow or Edinburgh office, you will play a key role in supporting and leading safety projects across high-hazard industries such as Oil & Gas, Low Carbon, and Renewables. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the energy transition while mentoring junior engineers and developing your own technical expertise. Key Responsibilities Deliver technically excellent safety projects. Conduct safety assessments including consequence analysis, QRA, Formal Safety Assessments, and Safety Case/COMAH compliance. Author high-quality technical reports. Lead and mentor junior engineers. Prepare proposals and cost estimates for new work scopes. Ensure project delivery aligns with scope, budget, and schedule. Engage directly with clients and build strong relationships. Perform additional tasks as required, aligned with your skills and development goals.Qualifications & Experience Degree in a relevant engineering or related discipline. Chartered status with a recognized institution. Proven experience in Process/Technical Safety, ideally within the Energy sector. Strong background in risk and safety management. Demonstrated ability to lead projects and meet delivery/cost targets. Proficiency in QRA and consequence analysis (preferably using PHAST). Familiarity with COMAH and Safety Case Regulations. Skilled in technical report writing and reviewing. Experience contributing to successful bids and proposals.Core Competencies & Behaviours Passion for technically challenging engineering projects.
