Technical Author – Pre-Operations (Mechanical or Electrical) Location: Cumbria Contract: 12 Months+ Rate: Up to £51.00 per hour Discipline: Mechanical or Electrical / E&I Overview We are seeking an experienced Technical Author to join a Pre-Operations team supporting a major nuclear project in Cumbria. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to a high-profile programme by producing high-quality operational documentation that supports the safe and effective commissioning, operation, and maintenance of plant systems. Key Responsibilities Produce compliant Operation, Maintenance (O&M) and Emergency Instructions within agreed project timescales. Develop and document risk assessment requirements to support working-level instructions. Review engineering, design, and vendor documentation to generate Volume C operational documentation. Conduct on-plant validation activities to verify the accuracy and usability of working instructions. Incorporate validation feedback and complete all post-validation updates and documentation revisions. Interface with engineering, design, operations, commissioning, and vendor teams to gather and verify technical information. Support plant walkdowns, inspections, and site familiarisation activities.
