This role offers the chance to work on a major long-term project, supporting critical mechanical inspection and quality assurance activities across a high-profile regulated framework. Key Responsibilities
- Support the delivery of mechanical quality assurance and inspection requirements to ensure full compliance with project standards, specifications, and nuclear governance.
- Conduct mechanical inspections across systems, components, and installations.
- Review and verify documentation including ITPs, LTRs, quality plans, and inspection records.
- Coordinate mechanical work packs and ensure all required documentation is complete and accurate.
- Record inspection findings, produce detailed reports, and communicate outcomes to engineering and quality teams.
- Support the management of non-conformances, corrective actions, and surveillance activities.
- Ensure adherence to Health, Safety, Quality, and site regulations and procedures.
- Liaise with contractors, engineers, and internal stakeholders to maintain clear quality expectations.
- Assist with the preparation and submission of quality documentation for lifetime records compliance.
Skills and Experience Required
- Experience in mechanical inspection or mechanical QA/QC within a regulated or high-integrity environment.
- Mechanical Engineering qualification (HNC preferred) or relevant equivalent background.
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems, installations, and inspection techniques.
- Experience working with ITPs, LTRs, quality plans, NCRs, and associated QA documentation.
- ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditor certification (advantageous).
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
- Confident communicator with the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with project teams.
- Knowledge of industry quality standards is desirable.
