Job Title: Outage Planner  Location: Heysham, Lancashire Contract Type: Contract Start: Aug 2025 (vetting dependant) Duration: 3 months About the Role: NRL are seeking an experienced and highly organized Outage Planner to join our clients team, supporting operations at a nuclear power station\’s statutory outage based in Heysham. This role is critical to ensuring the safe, efficient, and timely execution of planned outages, helping to maintain plant performance and regulatory compliance. Key Responsibilities: Develop, coordinate, and maintain detailed outage plans, schedules, and resource forecasts. Liaise with operations, maintenance, engineering, and external contractors to ensure effective planning and execution of outage activities. Use planning software (e.g. Primavera P6, MS Project) to create and update outage schedules. Track progress, identify potential delays or risks, and implement mitigations. Ensure all outage activities meet safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements. Participate in outage readiness reviews, daily coordination meetings, and post-outage evaluations. Maintain accurate records and documentation for audit and reporting purposes.Qualifications and Experience: Proven experience in outage planning, ideally within the nuclear or power generation sector. Strong knowledge of planning and scheduling tools (e.g., Primavera P6). Familiarity with nuclear safety culture, industry regulations, and maintenance procedures. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Engineering, technical or project management background preferred. Ability to work in a high-pressure, schedule-driven environment.
